Final Rites Held for George S. Spencer Funeral services for George S Spencer, 84, of Deford, were held Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Douglas Funeral Home. Rev. Miss Edith Smith, pastor of the Deford Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Novesta cemetery. Mr. Spencer, in poor health for some time, died Feb. 1, in the home of a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lyle Spencer of Harbor Beach, just 12 days following the death of his wife, Josephine. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theron and Mary Spencer, he was born at Five Lakes, Michigan, June 21, 1879. He married Miss Josephine McCain July 29, 1891, at Caro. She died Jan. 20. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Roy Cblwell of Saginaw; two sons, Seth L. of Dearborn and Alvah A. of Auburn Hts.; 13 grandchildren, and 17 greatgrandchildren. Three children preceded him in death.
