He was born about 1550 and his parents were Catherine (Kitson) and Sir John Spencer.

William married Marget Bowyer, daughter of Francis Bowyer, on 2 March 1578 in St Bartholomew By the Exchange, City of London, London, England.[1]and their children included ...

Sir William had his will drawn up 28 Jul 1609, describing himself as William Spencer of Eardington alias Yarnton, in the county of Oxon, knight.[2] He made bequests to and mentioned:

  • either of my daughters Alice or Margaret if they shall be married at the time of my death
  • my son George Spencer
  • my sons in law Sir Thomas Russell, Sir Henry Montague and Sir Maximillian Dallison

What possible original source materials show his place of birth and death? I fear these are inventions.

It is far more likely that he was born at either Wormleighton and Althorp, his father's two principal seats.
