David Taylor Spencer (1885 - 1957)

David T was born in Glencoe ,Gallatin Co, Kentucky on the 22 Jun 1882 growing up in the Glencoe area of Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Sadie Mae Kennedy daughter of John Kennedy and Anne Lindsey, on the 2nd day of January ,1907 to David was 24 and Sadie a beautiful  blond of 17 years, were very happy, and began housekeeping the moved to Addiston, Ohio, Their first son was born here, a beautiful baby boy. But Davids health was not so good they moved to 4 miles south of Hume ,Ill. David had farmed there several years before marriage so they lived at the Tucker Farm where he was foreman of Mr. Tuckers farms. He liked it there very much, and daughter Margaret was born there., along with a second son Roy also born in Illinois.  Sadie’s brother Claude persuaded Dave to come to Ind and raise Tobacco. They farmed on the James place. There son Elmer Allen was born and lived one year and 6 months he was buried in the cemetery across from there house where they bought family plot , Son Woodrow also was buried in the Brooksburg cemetery.  David very ill in the year 1919 was operated on in 1920 1 lung was removed after Dr's had given him up he recovered after many months, and went back to farming. Anna, William David, Norma Jean was born in later years. But his health was never very good he had very bad Hemorrhages from the lung that had been removed on in years. David bought a 76 acre farm and raised beens,corn & hay wheat and 10 milking cows they did not owe any money on the farm and had funds in the bank.  David had a heart attack and 8 years later a 2nd one. David had to retire from farming, and sold the farm. David and Sadie bought a home on State Road where they lived only 2 years before his death. He was buried in the Brooksburg Cemetery on the side of their 2 sons and Sadie died in Jan 1970 placed by his side on the side by road.
