Biography

Ruth was born in 1654. She was the daughter of Gerard Spencer. She married Joseph Clark, whose will dated 24 Oct 1716 is recorded in Haddam Deeds (2:255), son of William.[1] She passed away in 1744.

"JOSEPH5 CLARK (WILLIAM (HARTFORD AND HADDAM FOUNDER)4, THOMAS3, JOHN2, JOHN1) was born 1653 in Hartford, Hartford, CT, and died 1723 in Haddam, Middlesex, CT. He married RUTH SPENCER 1674 in Haddam, Middlesex, CT, daughter of Gerrard Spencer and Hannah Hills.

Children of Joseph Clark and Ruth Spencer are:

15. i. KATHERINE6 CLARK, b. 1675, Haddam, Middlesex, CT; d. 1755, Haddam, Middlesex, CT.

ii. WILLIAM CLARK, b. Haddam, Middlesex, CT; m. (1) MARY; m. (2) PRUDENCE, November 14, 1699.

iii. JOSEPH CLARK, b. Haddam, Middlesex, CT; d. January 23, 1749/50.

iv. DANIEL CLARK, b. Haddam, Middlesex, CT; m. MARY.

v. JOHN CLARK, b. Haddam, Middlesex, CT.
