Biography

Wm H Spencer was enumerated as head of the household in Militia District 871 Lafayette village, Walker County, Georgia for the June 9, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a mechanic in leather and born February 1845 in South Carolina. He had been married for thirty-three years. Also included in the household are wife Caroline Spencer, son Gerome Spencer, son Geo F Spencer, daughter Agness E Spencer, son Lemmand L Spencer, son Elnathan E Spencer, son Ulysis E Spencer and brother Thos Casselberry as seen in an image of the original census.[1]

William Henry Spencer is buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Rock Spring, Walker County, Georgia, USA.[2]

William Henry Spencer is not in the picture. He was in the house because he di not believe in aging his picture made on the Lord's day. He was a member of The Rock Springs Methodist Church, Rock Springs, GA.

This great grandfather was a faithful member for several years of Rock Springs, Georgia and is buried in the Cemetery where the church is still located.
