William Spilman was born circa 1750, in Colonial Virginia, a son of Thomas and Elizabeth Spilman of King George and Westmoreland County. In October 1775, in King George county, William married Mary Brown, a daughter of Thomas and Sarah Brown. Children of William and Mary are:

William Spilman, Sr. made his Will on March 14, 1810. It was proved on May 14, 1810. See images for his Will page 1 and Will page 2. William is buried in the Mount Tabor Cemetery, in Trimble county, Kentucky.
