Biography

Sarah Spooner was born in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, on October 6, 1700, the daughter of William Spooner. [1]

She married Thomas Hammond in Rochester, Massachusetts, on April 6, 1721. [2]

Research Notes

  • Death: I could find no listing for the death of Sarah Hammond on "7 Jan 1741" in the records of either Dartmouth or Rochester. Furthermore, that death date is exactly one year prior to the birth of her youngest son, Prince. It is possible that she died on the same day and that the date is a transcription error from double dating. White-34498 22:37, 5 October 2018 (UTC).

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:

Spooner-220 and Spooner-408 appear to represent the same person because: Birth dates and locations are identical. The only difference is a 1-year difference in death date
