Biography

Nehemiah was born 1698 & died 1745/7 in Queens, NY. His son Capt James Spragg (ship? HRS) came from LI to Barnegat City NJ & married Rachel Perkins."

"Nehemiah Spragg married Phoebe Southard 25 Sept 1725 at St. George's Ch in Hempstead LI. [1]

Nehemiah's son Uriah born ca 1742/43 died Green County PA married 1 ?? in 1774 & moved to PA. Married 2 Hester Kurch. Issue: Caleb, Adam, David, Benajah, Richard, Juelda, Hester and Sarah. Uriah was in the NJ Revolution & the PA Military Roll, Bedford County, Turkey Township

He d. ca. 1796, an inventory of his estate being filed in Monmouth, N.J., in that year. He resided in Hempstead at least until 1746 or 1747, as his name appears in the Hempstead tax list, but he must have moved, likely to N.J., by 23 May 1747, when his earmark was reassigned.
