Back Creek bottom land, once called Hog Bottom, where Dennis Springer and his family lived in the mid-18th century
Job Springer[1][2] was born on 23 April 1758 in Frederick County, Virginia, probably on Hog Bottom, just north of present-day Glengary, Berkeley County, West Virginia, the youngest of eleven children and nine sons of Dennis and Ann Prickett Springer.
He is said to have married in 1769, but he would have been only about eleven years old in that year, and no source is given for the information.
Job moved to Georgia by the mid 1770s and lived there for over thirty years at which time he moved to Greene County, Alabama. He married three times. The name of his first wife, who bore him six children (two sons and four daughters), is unknown.
1830 census
Job Springer appears in the 1830 census as a male between 80 and 89 living with a female [his wife, Emily Foster Springer] between the ages of 60 and 69.
