Dennis bought land in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, beginning in 1776. He was a captain of a company of Rangers in the Revolutionary War. He was Treasurer of Fayette County in 1801 and n 1821.
Dennis was the contractor for building the first brick courthouse in Uniontown – with bricks made on his farm. On 23 April 1823, when he was seventy-four, he died in Uniontown, Fayette County, of unknown causes.[1] He is buried in Great Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
