Henry was born in 1873. Henry Benton Spurlock was a coal miner and a handy man who made a living traveling from mining camp to mining camp prior to settling in Arjay, KY in Bell County near Pineville. A document from the US Department of Commerce dated 11/16/1942 (when he applied for factory work in Detroit during WWII) indicated that during the 1880 US Census, he was age 6, living with parents William and Martha Spurlock in Menifee County, KY. He and his wife [1] Barbara Bell (Nicholson) Spurlock are buried at Red Hill Cemetery in Arjay... [2]He passed away in 1952.
