Margaret St. John was born in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire around 1524, the third daughter of Sir John St John (great-grandson of Margaret Beauchamp of Bletsoe) and Margaret Waldegrave, [1]
Her first husband was William Gostwick son of Sir John Gostwick of Willington, Bedfordshire, and after his death in 1545 after a childless marriage, she married Francis Russell, Earl of Bedford, and they had four sons and three daughters [2][3]
28 Aug 1562 at Woburn, Bedfordshire " The Lady Margaret Countes of Bedd"[4]
The Gostwick pedigree in the same Visitation says that Margaret was the daughter of Oliver, Lord St John. Sir John St John is correct.
I can find no trace of a daughter Dorthy. She was falsely attributed to them.
Notes burial: 10 September 1562; Chenies, Buckinghamshire, England
There are 9 children showing rather than 7 in the bio.
Francis is duplicated in the children Janet appears in the children. She shouldn't be here. That reduces the children to 7.
