Anne (Stacy) Luxon was born in St. Gennys, Cornwall, England.

Ann was christened on 11 Nov 1750, in St. Gennys. She was the daughter of William and Ann Stacy.

She married John Luxon on 15 October 1772 in St Gennys. The had 12 children, and lost only the first Jane in 1789, and presumably the first Mary before the second was born in 1786. The second Mary and Nancy were twins.

Ann died in 1828 at the age of 77, followed by John in 1834.

Research Notes

  • Although the marriage record is spelled (or handwriting interpretation) Luxton, there is no marriage record for John Luxon and Ann in Cornwall between 1770-1790. There are two baptismal records for Stephen and Jane on the Cornwall OPC database with identical baptismal dates. One set is interpreted as Luxton, the other as Luxon.
  • The baptismal record for Charles does not give the names of the parents but there were no other Luxon, Luxson or Luxton parents christening children in St. Gennys between 1760-1790.
  • There is a baptismal record for John rather than Jonathan. Perhaps the original was abbreviated like Jn or Jno.
  • Nancy and Mary's baptismal dates have been interpreted by the transcribers as 7 Jan 1786 and 8 Jan 1786. So as not to be flagged by WikiTree, both birthdate have been recorded here as before 8 Jan 1786.
