Gene Stadden worked in the orchards of Eastern Washington as a young man before marrying my grandmother Irma. He became a very knowledgeable orchardist. I observed him splicing his apple trees creating one tree with several types of apples on it as a young girl when he lived on his small farm on Tangent Dr. in Albany, Oregon.
