Marcella earned an A.A. degree from Bay City Jr. College in 1937; she was also elected President of the Student Council. She and George have two daughters: Judith Ann, b. 1939, and Marcia Jean, b. 1944. George and Marcella were ordained as elders of the Presbyterian Church at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Their 60th wedding anniversary takes place in 1998. Marcella is a charter member of the Descendants of Founders of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut, The Cooley Family Association of America, The Rhode Island Genealogical Society, and the Kalamazoo Valley Genealogical Society, among others.[1]
Marcella (Staebell) Whaley, with the assistance of her cousin, John Francis Brisbin, who added the data concerning his line, has contributed much data from her fully annotated lineage of the descendants of her great-great-grandparents, James and Olive (Pettibone) Boorn, to this Pettibone volume.[2]
