  • The Find a Grave Memorial is for an unknown burial location and as such is not able to be verified. It was created by Jim Spencer. The profile contained a list of children and a possible location on residence, listed as being in the "Mcdowell-Minnie, Kentucky area of Left Beaver Creek, Floyd County, Kentucky.
Alternate Birth: About 1805 in Pennsylvania, United States

Frederick /STUMBO or STAMBAUGH/ was married on 24 December 1827 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Nancy THORNESBERRY.[16]

Nancy Thornesberry was born about 1810 in Virginia.[17] She is thought to have died between the 1850 and 1860 census years as she is present in the 1850 listing but is absent in the 1860 census listing. But a definite date of death has yet to be determined. She was the daughter of “Names”. [18] She is buried in “Place” [19]

Child #: Judy STUMBO (Born: About 1837; Died: About 1910; Married: Owen HALL)

Note: This individual is believed to be the same as Judah STUMBO, but the gender is incorrect if this is the case on one of the profiles. This is because there appears to be multiple matches for the names of the children, but they appear to have one being with the surname of HALL [If the individual was Judy STUMBO, a female, the children would have the surname of her husband if she was married] and the other with the surname of STUMBO, which would reflect the surname of Judah if he was a male. Research needs to be done to determine if this individual was a male or a female and which name the children should be listed under and appropriate merges need to be done after the name issue has been resolved and changed on the profiles to the correct surname.
Judah STUMBO listed as a Female child in 1850.[20]
Note 2: Judah STUMBO (Born: May 1837 in Floyd County, Kentucky; Died: Before 1910 in Floyd County, Kentucky; Married: Unknown, but several children were listed on this profile which are thought to be duplicates of each other.

Stambaugh-56 and Stumbo-1089 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles appear to be a match. The main difference is the spelling of the surname. All other details are the same. Thanks for helping me get these profiles merged.

Stumbo-1071 and Stumbo-846 appear to represent the same person because: According to wikitree guidelines there is only supposed to be one profile per individual. These two profiles appear to refer to the same individual and as such should be merged into the lowest numbered profile. They share the same parent and same child and other items appear to closely match between the profiles. Please merge these two profiles to comply with wikitree guidelines or provide significant proof that they were two separate individuals.

Stumbo-846 and Stambaugh-56 appear to represent the same person because: Fredrick Stambaugh changed his name to Stumbo, so the profile should be under Stambaugh-56, as that was the name is was born with?

Have fun!

Stumbo-846 and Stambach-75 appear to represent the same person because: This appears to be the same person except for spelling of the last name. Ray Graves who researched tis branch of the Stumbo family choose the "Stumbo" spelling and it is the way it is spelled in the 1850 KY census.

While I am not a member of this Stumbo branch I have considerable information including a digital copy of Graves book. Feel free to contact me either through wikitree or directly at [email address removed]
