John was born in 1777. He is the son of Elijah Stanley and Hannah Mills. [1]

John Stanley Birth: Mar. 16, 1777 Stokes County North Carolina, USA Death: Oct. 9, 1857 Henry County Indiana, USA John Stanley was born the 16th of 3rd mo 1777, a son of Elijah and Hannah (Mills) Stanley. He married the 18th of 11mo 1807 at New Garden Friends Meeting, Guilford Co., NC, Elizabeth Dicks. In 1825 John and his family were received by transfer at Honey Creek Friends Meeting, Vigo Co., IN. After the meeting was laid down in 1829, they were attached to Bloomfield Friends Meeting where they stayed until 1831 when they transferred their membership to Duck Creek Friends Meeting, Henry Co., IN. At the time of his death the cemetery was the burial ground for Duck Creek Friends Meeting.
