  2. East Lulworth Baptism Register

  • Westminster Roman Catholic Register. familysearch, no scan
Thomam Weld filium Thomae Weld et Mariae baptizatus 22 Jan 1773
Note by Martin C. Styan: familysearch is not sufficiently specific about this source, but it quotes the names in their Latin forms. The use of the Latin forms indicates that the register is Catholic, but this is not stated directly. The words “filium”, “et” and “baptizatus” have been used to be consistent with the Latin name forms.

  • Britwell Prior, Oxfordshire, RC Register. familysearch, no scan
Juliana Maria Weld baptized 6 Dec 1773
Mary Theresa Weld baptized 10 Jan 1775
Edward Weld baptized 18 Dec 1775
Note by Martin C. Styan: This source is rather unsatisfactory. familysearch is rather unspecific about it, but the letters "RC" presumably mean "Roman Catholic". The names of the parents are not given, but there is other evidence of Thomas and Mary Weld having children with these names in the 1770s. Census records say that Mary Theresa Weld was born at Britwell, Oxfordshire. There are also other documents showing that the Weld family owned property at Britwell Prior in the Parish of Newington, Oxfordshire.
