Jane Stanley was born about 1756 in Virginia. Her spouse was William Mullins Jr, marriage date unknown. Her parents were William Stanley SR and Judith (unknown).

Jane relinquished her dower, in a deed dated Jun 24, 1779, when William Mullins Jr sold to his brother John Mullins 70a on East fork of Town Creek on Smith River bounded by Thomas Hill’s new line & William Mullins Sr land (granted Mar 05, 1773). Henry Co. Deed Book 1, page 241-242. FamilySearch Film 7846266 images 135-136.

She is included in her father’s will, dated Aug. 17, 1784 in Henry County, Virginia. Jane’s spouse, William Mullins was named as a witness in the will.

Jane died sometime between 1830 and 1840 in Franklin County, Virginia.

• Jane (Stanley) Mullins parents were William Stanley Sr and Judith unknown.
• Jane’s father, William Stanley died in 1784 and he was SR, not JR.
• Jane’s father, William Stanley Sr’s parents are still unknown.
• No sources found for Jane’s mother’s maiden name, which was not Hanna.

Resolved Issues

• Photo removed that was not Jane Stanley Mullins. It was cropped from a photo of Booker B “Doc” Mullins and Catherine Yonts. Descendants have clarified this numerous times to let people know about this incorrectly labeled photo.
