William Stanley was born in Lancashire, England.

William was born before 11 October 1818 in Eccleston, Prescot, Lancashire, England. He was the son of James Stanley and Elizabeth (Parker) Stanley. Country: England[1]

William was baptised on 11 October 1818 in St. Mary the Virgin, Church Street, Prescot, Lancashire, England.[2][3]

When William was 18 he married Rachael Broomfield in September 1837. The couple had 10 children: Elizabeth Stanley, James Stanley, Samuel Stanley, Mary Stanley, Catherine Stanley, William Stanley, Mary Alice Stanley, Henry Stanley, John Stanley and Edward Stanley.[4]

In 1841 William (age about 22) was living in Pottery, Whiston, Lancashire, England.

By April 7th 1861, William was living in Church Street, Dukinfield, Cheshire (in the greater Manchester area).[5]

In 1871 William (age about 52) was living at 53, Napier Street, Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire, England.[6][7]

In 1881 William (age about 62) was living at 19, St. Silas Street, Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire, England.[8][9]

William died at the age of 64 in September 1883. [10]
