Biography

James Stanley was born before 13 March 1757 in Eccleston, Prescot, Lancashire, England. He was the son of William Stanley and Mary Walkden. Country: England

James was baptised on 13 March 1757 in St. Mary the Virgin, Church Street, Prescot, Lancashire, England.

James died in 1804, and was buried on 2 Feb 1804 at Prescot St Mary's. His occupation was recorded as labourer, and his address as Eccleston.[1]

Research Notes

A burial on 29 January 1777 at St. Mary the Virgin, Church Street, Prescot, Lancashire, England has been proposed as James'.[2] However there is no age listed on the burial record, and there are a series of christenings of children of James and Hannah Stanley at Prescot St Mary's between 1771 and 1791 which are spaced at plausible intervals to be a single family. It therefore seems unlikely the 1777 burial is this James. I propose instead a burial on 2 Feb 1804 at Prescot St Mary's of James Stanley labourer of Eccleston (again, no age is listed for him unfortunately). (- Morris-18630)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
