STANLEY — BLACK.— On February 12th, at the residence of the bride's parents, by the Rev. Newbold, Herbert A. Stanley, second son of Thomas Stanley, of Te Aroha, to Emily C., second daughter of Thomas Black, of Waihi, (late of Thames).

1918 Died of Influenza Epidemic
The death took place at Te Aroha on Saturday of Private Herbert Stanley, son of the Mayor of Te Aroha, at the age of 36 years. Private Stanley was a returned soldier, having served in France alongside his eldest brother (the late Private T. J. Stanley, who died while en route to the firing line for the second time and the latters young son, Private Roy Stanley. A widow and three children are left to mourn, his death.
