Biography
Elizabeth Ann STANLEY was born 1797 in Orange County, Virginia, to Richard STANLEY and Agnes MARTIN.and died in 1882 Wild Cat Valley, Yokum Station, Lee, Virginia, USA.
She married Jesse M. Bowen 31 Jul 1815 - Scott, Virginia. They had 7 children: Sarah Bowen 1818–1892 Agnes Bowen 1820–1900 Lewis Bowen 1823–1912 George Washington Bowen 1829–1895 Reece Bowen 1830–1870 Jennie Bowen 1832– Lizzie Bowen About 1835, Jessee left her for Sarah Durham and had about 9 other children but did not marry Sarah un 1854 when Jesse asked the court to give him a divorce from Elizabeth.
Elizabeth continued to live in the area and was living with her daughter Agnes Neeley in 1880 in Scott County off Horton Ford Road.
She was buried in Old Neeley Cemetery, Scott County, Virginia with son in law Claiborn and daughter, Agnes. (FindaGrave)
