(age 32 - born in Virginia), his sister Otey (age 16 - name as recorded and born in Virginia), his sister Hattie (age 14 - born in Virginia), his brother Bennie (age 12 - born in Virginia), his brother Alfred (age 3 - born in Virginia), his sister Susie (age 1 - born in Virginia) and his brother Fred (age 6/12 - born in Virginia)[3].

On October 16, 1945, Edward was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy[7].
Edward Daniel Stanley (age 40 - worked for General Utility for Clover Creamery Co.), committed suicide, on November 22, 1953, by carbon monoxide poisoning, from a motor vehicle exhaust pipe (he attached a big hose) and had a history of excessive use of alcohol, on Highway 613, in Boones Mill, Franklin County, Virginia and was buried on November 24, 1953, in Antioch Church of The Brethren Cemetery, in Rocky Mounty, Franklin County, Virginia[8][9].
