Biography

Dean was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Donn and Delores Stansbury on October 21, 1953. Donn was a teacher at the high school in Nichols, Iowa and Delores was a stay at home mother. Donn's career and advancements took the family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and then to Arlington Heights, Illinois in 1962.

Dean graduated from Arlington High School in 1971, and from the University of Wyoming in 1976 with a B.S. in Pharmacy. Dean enjoyed the freedom that a career in pharmacy provided, allowing him to work in both hospital and retail settings in different locations. Casper, Wyoming; Rawlins, Wyoming; Rock Springs, Wyoming, Freeport, Illinois, Jefferson City, Missouri; and Keokuk, Iowa all provided interesting and challenging practice sites for Dean during the course of his career.

Dean married Ann McMillan in 1976 and from that union one child was produced, Kelly Rae Stansbury. That marriage ended 1981. Dean then married Rita Dean Tidwell Sanders in 1983.

How's everything going?

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Dean

A warm welcome to the Wikitree Family. By now you will have received an email with useful links to get you started. Take your time and browse the site to see what Wikitree has to offer.

Wikitree is different, because we have one goal: To have one big Global tree. This means we have one profile per person, and we collaborate as one big team.

When you confirm your email address, you will have the opportunity to volunteer by adding tags to your profile. These should contain what interests you in your genealogy: surnames, locations, etc.

A Greeter will then confirm your membership, and you will be able to start adding your information.

We are all volunteers here and happy to help if you need it.

I look forward to seeing you in the tree :)

Happy researching

Wendy?
