Biography

John Alan Starkey was born on July 17, 1853 in Pennsylvania.[1] He was the son of John Marvin Starkey and Adelia Ann Gay. At age 16, he was in his working as a Farm Laborer in his parent's home in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota.[2]

At age 22, John married Mary Ann "Annie" Dyer (1844-1927) on 3 May 1876 in Hennepin, Minnesota. They had 4 children. She had children from a Previous marriage.

  3. Pearl Adison Starkey (1882-)
  4. Delia Ruby (Starkey) Heffner (1887-1948)[5]

John and Mary Annie lived in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota, where in 1800 he worked as a Teamster, and Annie was taking care of the home and Family, Her children from a previous marriage and their children, Mary-3, John 1 month old.[4]

They lived in Bethel, Anoka, Minnesota in 1900, where He was Farming, With Mary Ann-55, her son, Howard-32, Pearl-18, and Delia-13, in the home. [6] They remained on their farm in Bethel, St Francis Twp., [7]

His wife Mary Ann died at age 82, in Bethel Twp., Anoka, Minnesota.[8]

John died at the age of 76 on May 10, 1930 in Rochester, Olmsted, Minnesota.[9] Cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage, hypertension : died suddenly. [10]

John was buried in 1930 in Bethel, Anoka, Minnesota.[1]
