Biography

Greenberry Starnes was born in South Carolina in 1790. He married in South Carolina, where he and his wife can be found in the SC 1820 Census. [1] There are two marriage records for a Greenberry Starnes in Georgia, one in 1828 (to Peggy Ross) [2]and one in 1833 (to Elizabeth Prior). [3] In 1850 Greenberry is enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, apparently widowed and head of household with his children living with him.[4]
