Melvin was born in 1913. He is the son of Harrison Stauffer and Bertha Eberly. [1]

Rev. Melvin E. Stauffer, age 97, Sandusky passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility, Sandusky.
He was born May 21, 1913 in Quarryville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harrison and Bertha (Eberly) Stauffer.
He married L. Evangeline Hay on October 21, 1943 in Merrill, Michigan. She passed away on May 1, 1981.
Rev. Stauffer pastored the Gladwin Oakgrove Log Church in Gladwin for many years, and pastored at the Brethren in Christ Church, in Snover from 1943 until 1968. He also filled the pulpit when needed at the Mooretown, OakGrove and Faith Free Methodist Churches until he retired.
He is survived by two daughters, Rosalie Kohn of Sandusky and Elsie Feirer of West Branch; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Clair Stauffer of Florida and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Stauffer; eight brothers, Lloyd, Maurice, Roy, Jurvin, Harry, Wilburt, Christian and Marvin Stauffer; three sisters, Florence Frey, Anna Mae Sherman and Verna Stauffer.
Funeral Services were held at the Brethren in Christ Church, in Snover with Pastor Paul Eberhard of Snover who officiated.
Burial was at the Moore Township Cemetery, in Snover.
