Biography

Wilburt was born in 1923. He is the son of Harrison Stauffer and Bertha Eberly. [1]


Wilburt J. Stauffer, 82, formerly of Hopeland, and 912 Snyder Hill Road, Lititz, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the United Zion Retirement Community Lititz following a brief illness.

Born in Eden Township, he was the son of the late Harrison and Bertha Eberly Stauffer. In 1985 Stauffer retired from Wilbur Chocolate Company Lititz after working there for thirty-eight years. Previously he worked for Moore Dairy in Lancaster and operated a farm in Hopeland.

Wilburt was the husband of the late Mary G. Flory Stauffer who died in 2003. He was a member of the White Oak Church Of The Brethren Manheim. Interests included attending public auctions, traveling and vegetable gardening.

Surviving are two sons, Glenn E., husband of Elaine Groff Stauffer of Lititz, Abram H., husband of Coral McCloskey Stauffer of Lock Haven; two daughters, Darlene F., wife of Herb Kreider of Quarryville, and Fern L., wife of David L. Bollinger of Wellsboro; eight grandchildren and one greatgranddaughter; two brothers, Melvin Stauffer of Sandusky, Michigan and Clair Stauffer of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Kervin, Lloyd, Murice, Harry, Marvin, Christ, and Roy Stauffer and three sisters, Florence Frey, Anna Mae Sherman, and Verna Stauffer.
