Biography

Caroline Stayt was born in 1854 at Oddington in Gloucestershire. She was the daughter of Edward Stayt and his wife Caroline, born Caroline Spencer. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4]}

In 1861 Caroline Stayt was living at Oddington with her parents Edward and Caroline and their other children. Her age was given as 6, implying a birth date in 1854 or 1855. Her birthplace was given as Oddington, Gloucestershire. ^[2]

William Horton, widower, an ironmonger, of Thame, Oxfordshire, father deceased; and Caroline Stayt, of Oddington, daughter of Edward Stayt, farmer; were married at the parish church of Oddington on 22 February 1882. The witnesses were called Alfred Stayt, Charles Stayt, and Selina Stayt. ^[3]

In 1891 Caroline Horton was living in North Street in Thame with her husband William and their children. Her age was given as 40, implying a birth date in 1850 or 1851. [The age is somewhat obscured by a mark.] Her birthplace was given as Oddington, Gloucestershire. ^[4]
