Biography

David Stedman was baptized April 12, 1752, in Roxbury, a son of Joseph Stedman and Mary (Cory) Stedman. David Stedman was a private in Captain Jonathan Fisk's Weston Company, Colonel Brooks' Regiment, with service of 5 days. The Company was called out on the alarm of 4 March, 1776 at the taking of Dorcester Heights.

On September 24, 1776, in Natick, Massachusetts, David married Hannah Fisher, born September 10, 1756, in Needham, Massachusetts, a daughter of Jeremiah Fisher and Esther Reed. David and Hannah moved from Weston to Ashburnham on 11 Oct 1776. They stayed from Oct. 11, 1776 till Feb. 13, 1785; and then they moved on 13 Feb 1785 to Claremont, NH. They moved to Chester in the year of 1794, June 2 [1]

David died October 11, 1805, in Chester, Windsor, Vermont and is buried in the Brookside Cemetery, there. [2] After his death, Hannah, applied at Hyde Park (Lamoille Co) Vt. for a pension 27 Oct.,1840. Hannah died January 31, 1841, in Hyde Park, at home of son-in-law Jotham Wilson.
