Biography

John Stedman was baptized June 1, 1735, in Roxbury, Suffolk county, Massachusetts, a son of Joseph Stedman and Mary Cory. John was a soldier during the Revolutionary War and served in the Third Regiment of Massachusetts, in the company of Captain Joseph Williams, under the command of Colonel John Greaton. John gave the ultimate sacrifice to his company, and lost his life in service on August 18, 1777. [1]
