Biography

Stephen was born in 1696. He was married to Ruth (Porter) Steel and they had twelve children.

Stephen was a graduate of Yale College (1718).

1st Settled minister of Tolland CT (£75 per Year)

Graduate of Yale in 1718. Ordained about 1723. He belonged to the Hartford North Association. Congregational. At first he was not enthusiastic of the revival movement. (the "Great Awakening" in the 1740's), but "later a a 'New Light' in theology" See Source p 196

He passed away in 1759.
