Licensed [Scripture] reader at Southwark SRY in 1947, he took a leading part in parish affairs, both at Wimbledon and Surbiton where he lived. Keenly interested in church work, he served as a churchwarden, church treasurer and PCC member. He went to live in Calne WIL and was transfrerred to the Salisbury diocese as a licensed reader. He became attached to Derry Hill parish where his wife was born and there served three vicars, the Revs. Leslie Hudson, Christopher Brinkworth and Christopher Rutledge.
His wife who survives is organist at Christ Church Derry Hil.
