I was raised in Newfoundland and am researching my family tree. My mother was a Campbell from St. John's, Newfoundland and the Campbell's settled there in the mid-1700's. My father was born in Nova Scotia but his father was from Croydon, Surrey, England and his mother was born in Massachusetts. My father's side has an interesting history including witches of Salem, The Mayflower and the Royal Family. I learned from a DNA test through 23andMe that I am 99.9% European mostly British and Irish, with some French and German and Scandinavian.
