Biography

Mary is recorded as Mary Jacova, Mary Jocasa and Mary Jesora Stent. Mary was baptised on May 23, 1820 in Hascombe, Surrey and was the daughter of Phillip Stent and Emily Heath.

At age 20, she was employed as a Domestic servant by Henry Moline a Widower and a Miller of Farncombe. Farncombe was about 4 miles from where Mary was born.

She married Robert Oliver, a Tailor, on 6 March 1848 in Godalming at the age of 27. The marriage was registered at Guildford.

After Robert's death in 1863, Mary took on employment as a Laundress to support her family and they were still living at Water Lane.

She remarried on 19 January 1873, at Maidstone, Kent to Edward Vinten/Vinton, ^[1] a Labourer. The marriage was registered at Maidstone.

In the early 1880's, Mary was working as a Visiting Nurse in Willesden. Notably Mary is recorded as married despite Edward's death in December 1880. On Census night 1881, Mary was a visitor in the home of Alfred Board at Acton in Middlesex.

Mary Jacova (Stent) Vinten/Vinton passed away in 1896, Morden, Surrey aged 76 at the Union Infirmary. Burial on 18 November 1896 at Morden in Putney Vale Cemetery.
