Appendix A shows Nicolas inheriting property from his father, Peter Senior in 1845. Nicolas and all his relatives of Blair County, PA spelled the their surname sometimes as STEVENSSTEPHENSTEFFEY. For continuity the spelling STEFFY is used for this entire line.
Correspondence received from PM: His father Peter went by Steffen. The correct name for this line is Steffy and that should be what's on Wikitree. His father Peter is my 6th great-uncle. This is from the book that Glenn sent to me:
