- Birth, death and burial from Family Group Sheet-Stephens, information provided by mother Maudie Stephens to Shirley Locke, researcher in 1979. "My first son E W was sick for 6 weeks. He had colitis, but had gotten better. When he was really sick one night, they could not get a doctor to come out. After he died, Maudie told the doctor the symptoms and he said the baby had typhoid fever."
