Biography
Mary was baptised on 17 August 1811 in Spitalfields, Stepney, London by parents Farinton Stephens and his wife Sarah. Her birth date was noted. [1]
Mary Ann Stephens and George Drew married in 1845 in East London. [2]
Their children were:
- William Farinton Drew (~1846 - ~1919)
- Mary Anne Drew (~1847 - ~1931) (never married)
- George Drew (~1850 - ~1908).
- Thomas Henry Drew (~1852 - ~1935)
- Sarah J Drew, b. abt 1856-1908 (never married)
In 1861 George and Mary Ann were living in Bisley with their 5 children and a servant. George was a Builder/contractor employing quite a number of other tradespeople. [3]
She passed away about 1888. She was buried in Christ Church, Chalford in 1889. The inscription on her gravestone reads; 'Also of Mary Ann Drew the beloved wife of George Drew who died April 7 1889 aged 76 years' [4]
