Biography

James Stephenson was enumerated at Post Office Bowdon, Bowdon District, Carroll County, Georgia for the August 2, United States Census, 1860. He was noted as born 1854 in Georgia as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Elvira Stephenson, female Nancy Stephenson, male William Stephenson, male John Stephenson, female Ann Stephenson, female Elizabeth Stephenson, male Eli Stephenson and female Emeline Stephenson.[1]

James Stephenson was enumerated at Bowdon Post Office, Carroll County, Georgia for the July 15, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as works on farm and born 1853-1854 in Georgia as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Elvira Stephenson, female Nancy Stephenson, female Elizabeth Stephenson, female Emma Stephenson, female Georgie Stephenson and female Mary Stephenson.[2]

Jas T Stephenson was enumerated as self at District 1111, Carroll County, Georgia for the June 3, United States Census, 1880. He was noted as a farmer, born 1854 in Georgia and married as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Eliza D Stephenson and daughter Mattie L Stephenson.[3]

James Stephenson was enumerated as head of the household in ED 26 Militia Districts 9, Seminole, Coldwater, Chattooga County, Georgia for the June 15, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farmer and born May 1854 in Georgia. He had been married for twenty-two years. Also included in the household are wife Eliza Stephenson, son Marshall Stephenson, daughter Leonora Stephenson, daughter Cora Stephenson, daughter Mary M Stephenson, daughter Annie M Stephenson and daughter Dussie Stephenson as seen in an image of the original census.[4]

Jams T Stephenson was enumerated as head of the household at Wedowee Street, Bowdon, Carroll County, Georgia for the April 18, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1855 in Georgia and had been married thirty-one years. He was a farmer on a general farm and an owner as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Eliser D Stephenson, daughter Cora B Stephenson, daughter Margie M Stephenson, daughter Annie M Stephenson and daughter Dussie Stephenson.[5]

G. T. Stephenson was listed as the father of Annie Stephenson who died March 2, 1923 in Carroll County, Georgia. The mother was listed as Eliza Benson.[6]

James T. Stephenson is buried at Bowdon First United Methodist Cemetery in Bowdon, Carroll County, Georgia.[7]
