Walter Frederick STEPHENSON, son of Anthony STEPHENSON (1825- ) and Eliza RADFORD WARRILOW (1827- ), was born on 29 November 1856 in Shelton, Staffordshire, England.(*1) The address was: Bethesda Street, Shelton, Staffordshire, England. He appeared in the census on 7 April 1861 in 10 John Street, Hanley, Staffordshire, England.(*2) He appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in 13 John Street, Hanley, Staffordshire, England.(*3) In 1871 he was a potter.(*3) He appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 in 68 Mill Street, Shelton, Staffordshire, England.(*4) Walter was boarding with the Stubbs family and his name was recorded as Frederick Stephenson. It it appears that Walter had a relationship with their daughter Louisa who was over eight years younger than Walter. Louisa gave birth to their daughter Sarah in 1882 when Louisa was aged 17. Walter and Louisa did not marry until 2 months after Sarah was born.
