Memorial: Isaac Stephenson, Manchester, 64 20 5mo. 1830
"A minister about 20 years. He resided many years at Stockton-on-Tees, in county Durham, and removed to Manchester in 1826. He was a dilligent labourer in the work of the ministry; and had travelled in that service in many parts of this nation and Ireland, also in the United States of North America. In the 4th month last, he obtained a certificate to pay a religious visit to Friends in Ireland; and soon after attended the Yearly meeting in Dublin. he then proceeded northward, agreeably with his prospect, visiting meetings until he came to Dungannon, in the Province of Ulster; where it pleased his Divine Master to put a period to the labours of this devoted servant, he being removed by death after a few days illness. Though by the removal of this dear Friend, the Church is deprived of a valuable minister; yet may we not take comfort from the consideration, that he hath victoriously accomplished his Christian warfare; and is, we have not doubt, through the mercy of a gracious Redeemer, entered into rest."
