Marion was born on the 12th December 1860[1] to Archibald and Mary Ann Stephenson in Govan, Lanarkshire.
She married John Ridley at a ceremony conducted at the Sheriff Court House, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh[2]. It was by declaration in the presence of Jane Jamieson Jack and Stuart Findlay.
John indicated that he was a Student of Medicine and his deceased father, John Ridley, was a Minister of the Church of England.
It appears that John returned to England with Marion and the children remaining in Edinburgh.
During 1903 Marion married again to Alexander McNeill at the Maitland Hotel in Shandwick Place, Edinburgh[3]. The ceremony was witnessed by John McNeill and Marion's daughter, Agnes. The marriage entry notes that she is a spinster and Alexander a widower.
Alexander died prior to 1911.
Marion passed away on the 15th July 1937 at 22 Drum Brae, North Barnton, Edinburgh[4]. The informant was her Grandson John Sutherland.
