He married Indiana York step-daughter of Joseph Austin, on Sep. 30, 1830 in Brown County, Ohio.[1][2] They became the parents of Harriet Wilson, Elizabeth Baird, Joseph A. Stephenson, John M. Stephenson, Aquilla Y. Stephenson, Baker Stephenson, Rachel D. Flaugher and Mills Wilson Stephenson, all mentioned in his last Will and Testament.[3]
Mills died on Nov. 4, 1862 in Brown County, Ohio.
