Mary Stephenson appears in the 1870 Census with her father Hiram and aunt/stepmother Elizabeth Grant Landon Rockwood Stephenson.[3] In 1870, she was a school teacher.
After the 1870 Census, there is no evidence of Mary Stephenson. If you search Buck Cemetery where her parents are buried, you will find a Mary Stephenson who was born in 1840 and died in 1873. It seems somewhat plausible that could be her. However, the birth year is eight years earlier than the age represented in three separate Censuses.
