Biography

Robert was born in 1876 in Newton Abbot, Devon, England. His parents were John and Catherine Stevens.

He enlisted in the Royal Navy and served in South Africa where he met and married Alice Maud McLaughlin. They had They had 3 children before moving to England where the had 3 more children.

Later in life he returned to South Africa where he died in 1948 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Stevens-10749 and Stevens-9450 appear to represent the same person because: i have contacted Dougie (Stevens -9450) we have compared info and names and the signature on Olive's wedding certificate is that of her father which matches that on Daniels certificate (her brother)
