Biography
Emanuel can be found in land records of Craven Co., SC between 1765 and 1770. He began leasing his SC property in 1770. His next known record is a 1779 land purchase in Mecklenburg Co., NC. He's recorded in U.S. Federal Census records there in 1790 and 1800, as well as tax and numerous land transactions. By early 1801, he is recorded in tax records in Livingston Co., KY. His death year is determined by court records beginning December 1806 in Livingston Co., KY regarding his estate being contested for $11, in which his KY "hares" (or heirs) are named.
