DRYDEN - Mrs. Leafie M. Vandermark. 84 of 89 West Main St., Dryden, owner of Vandermark Real Estate for many years, died late last night at her home after a long illness.

She was born in Freeville March 13, 1887. the daughter of Frank and Rhoda Willard Hazen. She was previously married to Lee Stevens, who died in 1936,

A lifelong resident of the Town of Dryden. she was town clerk for eight years and had been night telephone operator for the Dryden Telephone Co. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dryden and the American Legion Auxiliary of Dryden.

Surviving are her husband Ray Vandermark of Dryden: three sons, Clinton Stevens of Dryden, Clyde Stevens of Varna and Bruce Stevens of Groton: seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Perkins Funeral Home. Interment will be in Willow Glen Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
