Ruth Stevens Husser
A retired Tangipahoa Parish educator and a resident and native of Hammond, she died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1997, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was 85. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 9 a.m. until religious services at noon Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Bill Galloway. Interment in Stevens Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Virgie Lee Givens, Loranger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, James Husser; a brother, Floyd Stevens; and five sisters, Lucille Faust, Ruby Daniels, Hazel Calmes, Edythe Harper and Lelia Bethel.[4]
