Biography
When James was about 35 he married Hannah Martin in about 1833 in Nunney, Somerset. The couple had 8 children: Thomas Stevens, Sarah Stevens, Elizabeth Ann Stevens, Benjamin Stevens, Samuel James Stevens, James Stevens, Sidney Stevens and Nehemiah Stevens.
In 1851, James and shoemaker, and his wife Hannah were residing at Nunney with two of their sons, Joseph and Benjamin. [1]
